Book Rental: Art, Craft & Photocopying: Cost is €40 can be paid in full or in instalments.·
Milk:Will be available from Mon. 11th Sept. to Christmas. Cost €14. Orders must be in by start of school Friday 8th Sept. Money can be paid anytime during the term.
Junior Infants: Will finish at 12 noon until Friday 15th Sept.
Pupil Personal Accident Insurance: The cost of 24 hour cover is €9. We highly recommend taking out this insurance as it covers all injuries/accidents inside and outside school and future treatment caused by these injuries. Money to be paid by 30th Sept.
Nut Allergies: We have children in the school with severe nut allergies, therefore all products containing nuts, ie. this includes bars with nuts and Nutella are banned. It is difficult for teachers to check all lunches so we need parents to be vigilant about this. These nut allergies are severe so your co operation in this matter would be greatly appreciated. We have a healthy eating policy, so please do not give children sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks in their lunches.
Textaparent:Please let us know if you have changed your mobile number recently as we need to update details. We sent a text today at 10.15 am. The message was delivered to all our contact numbers if you did not receive this message please contact your network provider.
Please, please, please ensure all jumpers, coats etc. are clearly labelled with child’s name on it. At least 30 jumpers/tracksuits tops went to recycling this summer.
When sending in money to school please ensure its in an envelope with child’s name written on it. All cheques to be made payable to ‘St. Patricks NS.
All children are to have slippers to wear in school. Tracksuits are to be worn on PE days only. Uniform to be worn otherwise.
Zumba will start on September 13th for all classes. There will be 6 lessons at a cost of €14 which can be paid in installments or a once off payment. Cheques to be made payable to “St. Patrick’s” N.S. There will be a show for parents on Wednesday 25th. We’ll give you more details nearer the time.
Irish Dancing: will start on Thursday 7th for Juniors - 4th classes. The cost is €13 until December. Again this can be paid in installments or a once off payment.
Reminder: There is no access for parents/children through the front gate. There’s no parking for parents out the front either as the road is far too busy.
Credit Union: 3rd- 6th classes- every second week. Forms home today with the 3rd class children. We’ll send a text when we know what date they’re starting back.
Meetings with teachers: If you wish to have more than a quick word with a teacher please ring to make an appointment. Teachers cannot have anything other than a brief word with parents at 9am or anytime during school hours as classes cannot be left unsupervised.

Our School today
Where to find us : Our school is situated in a rural area three miles from the village of Kilmacow, Co. Kilkenny and three miles from Waterford City. Pupils: Numbers have fluctuated considerably since the school was built back in 1931 and we are one of two schools in the parish of Kilmacow. We are a mixed gender school with 188 children currently enrolled. School Building : We currently have seven classrooms, two Learning Support/Resource rooms, a staff room and a Principal’s/Secretary’s office. We are also very lucky to have access to the local community hall which we use for P.E. Carol Services, Mass etc. Class Teachers

At the T-Junction opposite the Rising Sun take a left - R448. Stay on this road for approximately 9km. Shortly after passing Fogarty Motors on your left you will come to a crossroads. Take a left under a small railway bridge. The school is about 0.5 km up the road on your right.
Directions from Waterford. Take the first exit off the Newrath roundabout signposted Mullinavat R448. Stay on the R448 for approx. 2.5 km.
